Watch(IPL) : Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal's epic blunder costs Rajasthan Royals their second wicket during the powerplay.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a century in the prior game but was eventually bowled out for 14 runs due to the error.

The Gujarat Titans defeated the Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets on Friday in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), handing Rajasthan Royals their second straight loss. However, this setback was very different from their loss to the Mumbai Indians in the previous game. Against MI, RR was unable to hold on to a huge target of 213, while against GT, they were all out for just 118 runs.

RR's batting side struggled in both games. Despite scoring more than 200 runs against MI, Yashasvi Jaiswal's 124 off 62 was a big part of that total. After that, Jos Buttler's score of 18 off 19 balls was the second-highest score. Buttler was the only player other than Jaiswal to have scored more than 15 runs, and he was one of four RR players to surpass single digit scores on that particular day.

Jaiswal being run out on Friday showed RR's batting struggles. Sanju Samson, the captain, was primarily at blame for the dismissal. He tried to work the opening ball of the sixth over backward point, but Abhinav Manohar made a pretty impressive diving stop and instantly delivered the ball to Mohit Sharma at short third man. Samson moved three steps forward before stopping to observe the fielders in action as Jaiswal sprinted across the pitch.

Jaiswal was on the other side of the pitch when Mohit just received the ball, and he was even halfway back at the non-striker's end when the ball reached bowler Rashid Khan and he removed the bails, thus it appeared to be a clear single. Samson was left helpless, and Jaiswal, who had scored 14 points off of 11 balls, fled the pitch.

As GT dismissed RR in 17.5 overs, Rashid claimed three wickets and fellow Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad took two. In response, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha's opening stand of 71 runs nearly brought GT to victory. After Gill failed to continue after reaching 36 off of 35 balls, skipper Hardik Pandya entered and quickened the process. He led his team across the line with an undefeated 39 off 15 balls.
